The University of Suffolk is looking for an ambitious Financial Controller to lead change, modernise financial operations and help shape a high-performing, service-focused finance function. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys improving how things work and brings energy, curiosity, and a can-do attitude. You will lead the Financial Operations team, working closely with colleagues across the University to support transformation, strengthen controls and deliver a positive experience for students, staff and partners.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and developing a motivated, customer-focused Financial Operations team
Driving improvement and transformation of financial processes, systems and ways of working
Building strong relationships across the University to support effective decision-making
Championing a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
Playing a key role in safeguarding University resources and supporting sustainable growth
Acting as a trusted senior advisor and role model for inclusive, values-led leadership
Requirements:
Qualified accountant
Experience leading teams through change in a complex organisation
A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the confidence to challenge and improve
Strong people skills and the ability to inspire, coach and develop others
The ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders
A commitment to integrity, inclusion and putting students at the heart of what you do
