Job Description:

The Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager will lead the entire finance function for our specialist hospital in Selangor. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strategic thinker who can manage daily financial operations while providing data-driven insights to the senior management team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the healthcare sector, ensuring the hospital maintains robust financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Lead a team of 3 headcounts, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance management
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and local statutory requirements
  • Manage the hospital's cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to ensure liquidity for operational needs
  • Oversee patient billing, revenue cycle management, and reconciliation with insurance providers and third-party payers
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory controls, including costing and usage variance analysis
  • Coordinate with medical consultants and doctors regarding professional fee disbursements and contract terms
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial targets with clinical and operational goals
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies (e.g., MOH, IRB)
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard hospital assets and ensure data integrity
  • Oversee tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax and SST submissions
  • Evaluate the financial feasibility of capital expenditures (CAPEX) for new medical equipment and facility upgrades

Requirements:

  • A Degree in Accounting/Finance and a mandatory professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA, or CIMA)
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
  • Direct experience in the Healthcare or Hospital sector is highly preferred to navigate clinical costing and medical billing complexities
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 Audit firm is a strong advantage for technical and governance grounding
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Strong leadership, high integrity, and the ability to communicate financial results effectively to non-finance medical stakeholders
