We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Financial Assessments service for adults receiving Residential and Domiciliary Care. The role involves ensuring financial assessments are carried out accurately and in line with the Care Act 2014 and Council policy, while providing financial support to vulnerable adults and their carers. You will manage a team of Financial Assessment Officers on a day-to-day basis, dealing with service requests, complaints, disputes, and leading on first stage appeals against assessment outcomes. You will work closely with social workers, partner agencies, and third parties to deliver a high-quality service and ensure clear, fair decision-making. Using your strong knowledge of welfare benefits, council tax, and adult social care legislation, you will help develop more efficient ways of working, support system improvements, and focus on preventing debt through accurate assessments and timely reviews.
