The IT Financial Analyst provides financial oversight, analysis, and reporting for IT projects, operations, portfolios, and strategic initiatives. This role ensures IT investments are aligned with business objectives, managed within budgetary constraints, and compliant with financial governance, regulatory requirements, and capital planning standards. The IT Financial Analyst works closely with IT leadership, project managers, and finance partners to support informed decision-making and strong financial controls across the IT organization.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the development and management of IT budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans
Monitor actual versus budgeted expenditures, perform variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions
Partner with IT leadership to align financial planning with strategic and operational goals
Prepare and present financial reports and analyses for IT leadership
Analyze IT spending trends and identify cost optimization opportunities
Track and report capital and operational expenditures for IT projects and initiatives
Support project managers with financial planning, cost tracking, and reporting
Ensure accurate allocation of costs to projects, departments, and portfolios
Assist with business case development and ROI analysis for IT investments
Review vendor contracts and invoices for accuracy, compliance, and budget alignment
Provide financial support for procurement and vendor management activities
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, corporate policies, and governance frameworks
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
Equivalent experience may be considered (typically six years of progressive, related experience in lieu of a degree)
Minimum of two years of related financial or analytical experience
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to interpret financial, economic, accounting, and statistical data to develop insights and recommendations
Working knowledge of information technology concepts, systems, functions, and major IT vendors
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
experience with PowerPoint and email tools
Experience with Oracle Financials or similar financial systems preferred
Advanced spreadsheet modeling and financial report design skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of an organization and diverse teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to establish, follow, and monitor adherence to financial standards and controls
Nice to have:
Experience with Oracle Financials or similar financial systems preferred
