We are currently partnering with a State Government client to recruit a professional Finance Business Analyst (ASO5) for an initial three-month contract, with a possibility of extension. This role is pivotal in supporting the department’s financial oversight, requiring a candidate who can blend technical financial expertise with the ability to influence senior decision-makers. Primary Focus: The core objective of this position is to provide comprehensive financial oversight regarding Vehicle and Building Repairs & Maintenance. The successful candidate will investigate historical data and budget variances to ensure transparency and provide the department with actionable financial intelligence.
Job Responsibility:
Perform detailed analysis of historical expenditure, specifically focused on repairs and maintenance portfolios
Investigate and report on budget variances, providing clear justifications and identifying underlying trends
Prepare and present formal briefings, ensuring complex financial data is accessible and clear for management and executive stakeholders
Utilise General Ledger systems to extract and manipulate data, ensuring a high standard of data integrity
Requirements:
Up to five years of experience in financial analysis
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs)
Experience with Basware or comparable General Ledger systems is highly regarded
A tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline
Exceptional soft skills with a proven ability to brief senior executives and present data with clarity and professionalism
A current National Police Clearance is a mandatory requirement
