You’ll join WGU’s Financial Planning & Analysis team, a collaborative group that partners across the Academy to guide strategic decisions. This team thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and plays a critical role in shaping sustainable growth for new certifications and on-ramp programs. As a Financial Analyst II, you will build and maintain scalable financial models, analyze pricing, enrollment, and cost scenarios, and deliver clear, data-driven insights that inform which Academy certifications and on-ramp programs to launch, prioritize, and scale responsibly. Your work will directly influence investment decisions and long-term strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and refine multi-year financial models to evaluate program viability and scalability
Analyze enrollment trends, pricing strategies, and cost drivers to identify risks and opportunities
Conduct sensitivity and break-even analyses to stress-test assumptions and guide decision-making
Partner with Operations and Education teams to translate operational realities into actionable financial insights
Create clear variance commentary and recommendations for leadership to drive informed decisions
Establish repeatable reporting frameworks and improve data consistency across multiple sources
Support strategic planning by providing insights that enable disciplined, sustainable growth
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, modeling, or FP&A
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial modeling techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in ambiguity
Excellent communication skills to present complex data in a clear, actionable way
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decisions without slowing momentum
Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Nice to have:
Experience in higher education or edtech
Familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools
