The role of the Financial Analyst to provide project financials to the business. You will be a business partner to the project and operational management teams to help ensure successful project execution. This will be accomplished through financial reporting, measuring and controlling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
Job Responsibility:
Liaise with Project Management team, providing timely and accurate financial information
Review PM’s forecast to ensure integrity
Prepare financial analysis on projects for management, checking that job margins in JDE are consistent with PM’s forecast
Assist in the project revenue forecasting process
Assist with the preparation of the monthly MBR package
Assist in the month end, quarter end, and year end reporting requirements
Participate in the yearly planning process
Monitor and prepare project milestones billings to ensure that progress billings are up to date
Responsible for the accounting and administration of all contracts in progress
Setup and maintain job control sheets for customer contracts and change orders
Setup and maintain projects in JDE
Liaise with external auditors with respect to project based enquires
Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to in a consistent manner within the division and that the financial reporting standards are applied consistently
Regularly review policies and procedures with Divisional Controller and Financial Staff, to develop an ATS best practice approach for the financial management of the company
Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures
Ensure the safeguarding of company assets
Requirements:
Degree in Business or Accounting is required
CPA/CMA designation is preferred
Previous exposure to Percentage of Completion Accounting a definite asset
Exposure to a manufacturing or job cost accounting environment is preferable
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization both verbal and in written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical, financial reporting and accounting skills as well superior computer skills (advanced knowledge of Excel, JDE experience a definite asset)
Must be hands-on, detail and results-oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines
