Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team in Columbia, Maryland. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, analyzing data, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading organization in the mortgage industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform detailed data analysis to oversee weekly financing loan processes, including tracking, evaluating financing options, and funding loans on eligible lines
  • Prepare managerial and performance indicator reports to support the decision-making needs of finance team leaders
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures by creating and maintaining thorough documentation of processes, reports, and applications
  • Collaborate on special projects as needed, providing financial insights and support to achieve project goals
  • Reconcile financing facilities and manage daily financial activities to maintain accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in monthly and annual financial reporting cycles, contributing to timely and accurate submissions
  • Identify discrepancies in financial data, research issues, and implement effective resolutions
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide updates on processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in finance, with a background in the mortgage industry considered a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with financial reconciliation, account analysis, and audit processes
  • Experience in preparing monthly and annual reports is highly desirable
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a standard office environment.
