We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst III to support program accounting activities in Englewood, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position focuses on payment and accrual processing, financial reporting, and analytical support that helps maintain accurate records and strengthen business performance. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, confidence working with large data sets, and the ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibility
Manage monthly network payment and accrual activities, ensuring transactions are calculated accurately and recorded on time
Reconcile payments, accrual balances, and related financial records while investigating and resolving discrepancies
Examine large and complex data sets using database and query tools to generate payment calculations, reporting, and actionable insights
Build and maintain financial analyses, models, budgets, and forecasts in support of departmental and management needs
Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that contribute to accurate financial close and complete financial statements
Research variances against budget and forecast, summarize findings, and communicate drivers behind financial results
Prepare and review journal entries during month-end and year-end close activities with a focus on accuracy and compliance
Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend standardization efforts, and support initiatives that reduce risk and improve efficiency
Review network audit information, conduct analysis, and help develop more effective methods for tracking and resolving audit-related items
Complete ad hoc financial research, reporting, and special projects as assigned by leadership
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
5-8 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a comparable corporate or public accounting environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data effectively
Proven experience working with large data sets and database tools, including SQL-based environments or similar querying platforms
Hands-on knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, Teradata, or Microsoft Visual Studio for financial and data analysis work
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, as well as Word and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting analysis, explaining variances, and collaborating across teams
Ability to organize workload independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
