Job Description:

Assist students in navigating financial aid processes, providing them with the tools and guidance necessary to achieve their educational goals. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to utilize financial expertise, customer service skills, and compliance knowledge to make a meaningful impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct interviews with students to evaluate their financial aid needs and eligibility
  • Analyze financial information to determine suitable funding options for students
  • Ensure accurate documentation of financial aid records while maintaining compliance with institutional and federal regulations
  • Assist students in completing financial aid applications and educate them on repayment responsibilities
  • Provide counseling to students in adherence to Department of Veterans Affairs guidelines
  • Perform financial analysis to structure customized financial aid packages
  • Manage and process financial aid documents, including ISIRs and federal fund releases
  • Audit student files to verify completeness and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Admissions to coordinate financial aid appointments and ensure seamless support
  • Stay updated on lending practices and financial policies relevant to student funding

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid, loan processing, banking or a related field
  • Strong skills in data processing and documentation management
  • Excellent communication abilities for explaining financial concepts clearly
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements for federal and institutional regulations
  • Knowledge of FAFSA processes and student financial aid programs is beneficial - will train
  • Understanding of various loan products and their applications
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and build trust with diverse populations
