Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Aid Analyst/Specialist to support prospective students and their families by providing clear guidance on financial aid options, eligibility, and next steps. This permanent, in-office opportunity is based in Florida and offers a contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, service-focused environment. The person in this role will partner closely with admissions staff while helping applicants navigate the funding process with accuracy, professionalism, and care.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise prospective students and family members on available financial aid programs, application steps, and eligibility guidelines
  • Review submitted information for completeness and accuracy, helping applicants resolve missing or inconsistent documentation
  • Deliver responsive, high-quality service through in-person, phone, and email communication during peak enrollment periods
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure students receive coordinated support throughout the enrollment and funding process
  • Maintain organized records and complete administrative tasks related to financial aid counseling and case follow-up
  • Explain timelines, requirements, and next actions so students can make informed decisions about financing their education
  • Support office operations in an on-site setting, including participation in scheduled late-day coverage and monthly Saturday hours as needed

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in financial aid, student services, customer support, accounting, or a related administrative environment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and families
  • Working knowledge of student financial aid processes or the ability to quickly learn applicable policies and procedures
  • Experience handling detailed documentation and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced office setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including admissions and other student-facing departments
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines during high-volume periods
  • Proficiency with general administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and office software tools

  • Conduct verification for selected student files promptly and ensure all documentation meets compliance standards before aid is advanced
  • Oversee loan-related requirements such as promissory note completion and provide entrance and exit counseling through one-on-one or group sessions
  • Evaluate incomplete files on a recurring basis and confirm that aid is released only when eligibility requirements have been fully satisfied
  • Monitor student accounts for accurate packaging, expected funding activity, and overdue balances to support timely disbursement of available aid
  • Meet with incoming students to begin the aid process, explain available funding programs, and outline required forms and next steps
  • Respond to student questions, resolve processing concerns, and connect individuals with appropriate campus resources when additional academic support is needed
  • Stay current on financial aid regulations and federal guidance while assisting with additional compliance or administrative projects assigned by campus leadership
