Job Description:

This is a key role within a high-performing finance team, helping to scale and professionalise the finance function. The Financial Accountant will play a critical role in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and audit-ready outputs in a private equity-backed environment. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and operational teams, taking ownership of core accounting processes while supporting commercial decision-making. Job Responsibility:

Own the month-end close process and deliver accurate management accounts to tight deadlines
Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Produce statutory accounts and manage the year-end audit process
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements
Prepare information for corporation tax returns and manage payments on account
Prepare and review VAT returns
liaise with external advisors
Support budgeting, forecasting, and private equity reporting requirements
Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge
Identify and implement process and control improvements
Support finance system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage the transactional finance team

Requirements:

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or finalist with strong experience)
Proven experience in a practice or similar role
Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting knowledge
Comfortable analysing data, with strong Excel skills
Able to work to pace and manage competing deadlines
Commercially aware, proactive, and detail-focused
Strong communicator, confident engaging with all levels of the business
