The Opportunity - Our client, an established and growing international consultancy operating within the life sciences and healthcare sector, is seeking an experienced and reliable Financial Accountant to join its UK team on a permanent, part-time basis. The organisation provides specialist advisory and technical expertise to a global client base and continues to see steady growth. Job Responsibility

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Manage month-end close, including reconciliations and supporting analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and statutory reporting (UK GAAP)
  • Monitor budgets and support stakeholders with financial performance tracking
  • Process invoices, manage supplier payments, and resolve queries
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Assist with audits and liaise with external advisors

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and controls
  • Experience with UK payroll (international exposure advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
