Job Description:

Our client, a global company, is on the lookout for a talented Financial Accountant to support their financial operations from their Stalybridge office. This is a newly created role due to growth.

Job Responsibility:

Executing high-quality month-end close processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliation
Compiling evidence for group and operational controls in preparation for reviews
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Collaborating with the Group Tax Department to prepare annual statutory accounts and tax compliance documentation
Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing necessary information
Assisting with accounts payable and receivable and banking processes as needed
Building strong relationships with colleagues across departments, including operations and sales
Analysing financial performance to identify risks and opportunities

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, ideally handling EMEA operations
Proven experience in month-end close processes, VAT returns preparation, and statutory accounts preparation
Familiarity with internal and external auditing processes
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
An eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Team player mentality, eager to support fellow team members
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
