Job Description:

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, supporting month-end processes, regulatory returns, and internal Allianz Group reporting. The role offers opportunities to grow in the field of reinsurance, diverse projects within the Allianz group, and an attractive package.

Job Responsibility:

  • working under different accounting regimes: IFRS and Solvency II
  • manage work assignments independently from start to completion as well as being able to define and solve problems independently
  • supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • responsible for the preparation, analysis and submission of the annual plan and the quarterly review of actual financial performance versus plan
  • assist with training, coaching, and developing junior staff members
  • supporting the year-end external audit by responding to auditors’ requests for information and documentation, providing input to and reviewing the Company’s Financial Statements
  • supporting Solvency II regulatory reporting (input, review, testing of QRTs)
  • supporting and delivering on internal audit requests
  • collaborating in a global team and managing relationship with different internal and external stakeholders including Allianz Group, Allianz Re SE, cedents, vendors, banks, clients, local authorities etc. as required
  • identifying and driving process improvements to ensure efficiencies maintained within the team
  • assist in assessing complex transactions, providing input and/or project management to ensure all key stakeholders aligned
  • drive self knowledge of the business, systems, and outputs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the accounting function

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified accountant
  • excellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • relevant working experience (2+ years post qualification) in the financial services sector – preference given to Big 4 audit firms and/or (re-)insurance
  • previous knowledge of SAP favoured
  • previous knowledge of Solvency II strongly preferred
  • previous work experience in annual financial plan process
  • strong analytical skills and curiosity to expand own field of expertise
  • experience of coordinating and delivering accurate output with multiple deadlines
  • highly motivated and used to working in a self-organized way
  • solid understanding of IFRS17 and its practical implementation

Nice to have:

  • previous knowledge of SAP
