Job Description:

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading Insurance business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for a key hire within their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with insurance sector experience to join a highly respected organisation operating across multiple international entities and branches. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, reinsurance, taxation, reconciliations and process improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ownership of month-end accounting entries relating to inbound underwriting transactions, covering areas such as earned premium recognition, claims movements and fronting activity
  • Analyse monthly financial results for several entities, reviewing both individual company performance and consolidated group reporting and prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Contribute to the year-end reporting cycle through the production of statutory accounts and supporting schedules
  • Prepare indirect and direct tax returns, including corporate tax and insurance premium tax, across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors where required
  • Manage outward reinsurance administration
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise and digitise finance processes
  • Build strong relationships with underwriting, claims, actuarial, tax and wider business functions

Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent with 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience in an accounting role within insurance
  • Reinsurance Accounting experience would be highly desirable
  • Strong Excel experience and an eye for digital automation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal
