Job Description

We’re looking for a commercially minded, AI-curious Financial Accountant who wants more than a traditional accounting role. This is a 12 months fixed term contract. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving fintech where finance is evolving beyond spreadsheets and manual processes. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to modernise workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and help embed AI into day-to-day finance operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Deliver accurate reconciliations, journals and variance analysis
  • Use AI tools to speed up reporting commentary, analysis and management packs
  • Apply AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot to real finance workflows
  • Identify manual or repetitive tasks and build smarter solutions
  • Help modernise finance processes through automation and digital tools
  • Share prompts, workflows and ideas that improve team productivity
  • Own journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Use AI tools to automate manual processes and improve efficiency
  • Drive smarter ways of working through automation and process improvement
  • Help build a more modern, data-driven finance function
  • Support external audits and compliance requirements
  • Assist with finance transformation projects, system improvements and new initiatives
  • Partner with the broader business on reporting and commercial insights

Requirements

  • 2–4 years’ experience in financial accounting
  • CA/CPA qualified or currently completing
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (AASB experience preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills and ERP exposure (NetSuite highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools in work, study or personal projects
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
  • Someone curious, adaptable and excited by improving how finance teams operate
