Job Description:

Motion is a business operating across the Asia Pacific region including New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and Singapore who provide a range of industrial products & engineering services to industry to keep the world moving! We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant for a 6-month fixed term contract while the business reviews requirements for 2026. We are in growth mode with a clear 2027 growth strategy to expand our reach into industry across the region. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports
Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results
Collaborate cross-functionally with business units to ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies
Assist with external audits by providing necessary documents and other regulatory fillings
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Review current calculations and workflows, then implement improvements to make calculations and analysis more efficient
Develop standardised branch reports using actual data for Commercial Finance to analyse and provide business recommendations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
A professional accounting qualification is preferred
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end close processes
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
Proficient with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice to have:

Experience in a multinational group organisation
Familiarity with New Zealand regulatory and compliance requirements
