Job Description

Compass Associates are working in partnership with a growing SME within the later living sector to recruit a Financial Accountant into their finance team. This is a broad, hands-on finance role offering exposure across transactional finance and wider accounting responsibilities within a fast-paced and evolving business. Reporting into the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while contributing to the ongoing development of finance processes and reporting within the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Support day-to-day finance operations across the business
  • Assist with month-end processes and reporting activities
  • Process invoices, payments, and customer transactions
  • Carry out reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support VAT returns and general compliance activities
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support the Finance Director with reporting and analysis
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements within finance processes

Requirements

  • Experience within a broad SME finance role
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger
  • Experience supporting month-end processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator, able to work with non-finance stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong Excel and systems knowledge
  • AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or QBE
