Job Description:

This is a newly created position within a prominent Aged-Care organisation. As the Lead Financial Accountant, you will manage financial accounting, statutory compliance, and financial stewardship across a multi-portfolio environment. This role is ideal for a technical lead who enjoys process improvement and mentoring. You will oversee one direct report.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate financial close
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations of provisions, accruals, and asset/liability schedules
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with AASB, ACNC, and NFP requirements
  • Prepare weekly and rolling cashflow forecasts
  • Monitor liquidity, funding cycles, and treasury functions including bank reconciliations and investment monitoring
  • Coordinate external and internal audit requirements, including the preparation of workpapers and remediation actions

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance and CA/CPA accreditation
  • Extensive financial accounting experience within medium to large organisations
  • Prior experience in a Not-for-Profit or government-funded environment is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of AASB and ACNC frameworks
  • Experience with multi-entity structures and Board-level reporting
  • Experienced with ERPs, Power BI, and Excel
