We are looking for an experienced Finance Transformation Consultant to support our non-profit client through a Contract engagement. This role will focus on strengthening finance and accounting operations by assessing current practices, identifying improvement opportunities, and shaping practical recommendations for leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in finance process evaluation, internal controls, and organizational transformation, with the ability to translate findings into actionable operational improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Examine finance and controller activities to uncover process bottlenecks, control weaknesses, and areas where performance can be improved
Evaluate reporting and accounting workflows, including management reporting, cost analysis, consolidation activities, and preparation of financial statements
Recommend practical changes that simplify finance operations, improve consistency, and increase the effectiveness of accounting processes
Identify ways to enhance collaboration between finance leaders and accounting teams, including opportunities to improve shared services support
Review data governance, reporting structures, and analytics capabilities to strengthen insight generation and decision-making quality
Develop recommendations that promote stronger financial oversight, better accountability, and a more scalable operating model
Work closely with executive and finance leadership to align transformation priorities with broader organizational objectives and day-to-day business needs
Provide interim advisory support for finance transformation efforts, process reviews, and other high-impact operational initiatives
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, or operational review initiatives
Strong knowledge of internal control assessment and financial process optimization
Background in non-profit accounting or finance operations within a regulated or mission-driven environment
Expertise in evaluating management reporting, cost accounting, consolidations, and financial statement preparation
Ability to assess organizational effectiveness and recommend practical, business-focused improvements
Experience partnering with senior leadership to present findings and guide strategic decision-making
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data management and business analytics capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills in complex organizational settings
