Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Finance Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for our client in Rockford, Tennessee. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling both payables and receivables while maintaining accuracy across financial records. The role will contribute to timely transaction processing, organized documentation, and dependable support for the broader accounting function.
Job Responsibility
Manage incoming invoices, confirm supporting documentation, and process payments with a high level of accuracy
Record customer payments, update account activity, and help maintain current and accurate receivable balances
Perform three-way matching by comparing purchase orders, receipts, and invoices before approving transactions
Prepare and complete check runs and bank deposits in accordance with established accounting procedures
Enter financial data into accounting systems such as QuickBooks and SAP while keeping records complete and up to date
Review customer accounts for credit issues, assist with credit hold situations, and communicate discrepancies for resolution
Support sales tax tracking and related recordkeeping to help ensure proper reporting
Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, reconcile information, and produce routine accounting support reports
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk, finance support, or similar transactional accounting role
Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing activities
Working knowledge of QuickBooks, SAP, or comparable accounting software
Strong data entry skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy
Experience handling check runs, posting payments, and preparing bank deposits
Familiarity with three-way matching and basic credit control practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reconciliation, and reporting tasks
