Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the full general ledger, including preparing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries for controller review
  • Handle accounts receivable activities such as invoicing, collections, and posting incoming payments
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for review
  • Run bi-weekly payroll for staff and monthly payroll for board members, including deductions, remittances, and related reporting
  • Manage accounts payable processing, including payments and required remittances to industry-related organizations
  • Calculate and submit statutory payroll remittances (CRA, MSP, Statistics Canada, PSPP, and others as required)
  • Prepare and file GST returns and related compliance reports and support audit processes by preparing working papers for quarterly and year-end audits
  • Streamline internal controls and review accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with budgeting and broader financial planning activities throughout the year
  • Ad hoc duties as needed

Requirements

  • Designated CPA
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Extensive experience with monthly and annual GL reconciliations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is an asset
