Job Description

We are seeking a commercially minded, Finance & Risk Manager to join our Finance team within a Member-focused agricultural cooperative. This is a broad and hands-on role combining financial analysis, credit risk management, business partnering and operational finance support as well as leading a team. You will work closely with procurement, credit control and finance leadership to support sound commercial decision-making across the business. The role would suit an individual who enjoys variety, is comfortable operating across both transactional and strategic finance activities, has leadership experience and is confident working with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead credit risk assessments and member due diligence, providing clear recommendations on onboarding and risk management
  • Monitor member exposure and help shape the cooperative's overall credit risk strategy
  • Manage debt recovery activities, including legal proceedings, while driving effective credit control practices
  • Partner with solicitors, external agencies and internal teams to resolve outstanding debts efficiently
  • Develop and enhance credit, debt and financial reporting within NetSuite, delivering actionable business insights
  • Oversee the sales ledger function, ensuring prompt resolution of member queries and an excellent member experience
  • Collaborate with operational, procurement and commercial teams to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Produce cash flow forecasts, analyse trading performance and provide meaningful commentary to support decision-making
  • Support monthly and year-end financial reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement initiatives across finance
  • Act as a key finance business partner, providing specialist credit and risk expertise and cover when required

Requirements

  • Strong experience in credit risk, credit control and debt recovery, with the confidence to make sound commercial decisions and manage risk effectively
  • An excellent communicator who builds trusted relationships with colleagues, members, external partners and senior stakeholders
  • A proven people leader who can motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Experienced in financial reporting, forecasting and performance analysis, with strong systems skills and confidence working with ERP platforms such as NetSuite
  • Comfortable managing challenging conversations, including credit decisions and debt recovery matters, with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Proactive and hands-on, with a genuine passion for developing people, improving processes and delivering outstanding service to members and stakeholders
