Finance Operations Manager | Hypergrowth AI Start-up | London (Hybrid). Harmonic is delighted to be partnering exclusively with one of the UK's most exciting AI software start-ups to bring on board their first dedicated finance operations hire. Having recently completed a major Series B led by several top-tier Venture Capital investors, finance operations will play a central role in preparing the business for its next leap in scale. It's a rare opportunity to join a venture-backed company that has real traction, world-class investors, and a team obsessed with automation and AI to modernise a sector ripe for change. The Role: Our client is seeking a Finance Operations professional who thrives in fast-growth environments and enjoys building high-impact systems from the ground up. This role will design and own the financial processes that keep the company's revenue engine running smoothly, driving automation and scalability as the business rapidly expands.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead vendor & customer finance flows: Take end-to-end ownership of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, vendor management, and collections, ensuring money moves through the business efficiently
  • Design automated, scalable processes: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement automated workflows leveraging new tools to replace manual tasks with streamlined, reliable systems
  • Shape the financial tooling stack: Evaluate, recommend, and optimise financial platforms and payment solutions that support the company's growth trajectory
  • Maintain revenue accuracy: Establish robust revenue controls and processes, applying strong revenue-recognition principles to ensure financial integrity

Requirements

  • Fast-growth start-up or scale-up environment experience
  • Experience identifying inefficiencies and driving process improvement
  • Comfortable in a varied, hands-on finance role where 'no task is too small'
  • Strong communicator and great attention to detail
  • Experience with either Xero, Quickbooks, NetSuite preferred
