Job Description:

We are looking for a Finance Manager to support planning, reporting, and analysis activities for a team based in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can provide strong insight into business performance through accurate forecasting, thoughtful modeling, and dependable monthly close support. The role will contribute to financial visibility and decision-making by translating data into clear recommendations for stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead monthly close activities by reviewing financial results, resolving variances, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Build and maintain financial models that support budgeting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that highlight trends, risks, and performance drivers
  • Analyze operating results against forecasts and budgets, identifying key variances and explaining underlying causes
  • Develop forward-looking projections to support planning cycles and business performance reviews
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and improve the quality of financial analysis
  • Present concise financial insights and recommendations that help leadership make informed decisions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in finance management, financial planning, or a related analytical role
  • Strong hands-on background in month-end close processes and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to create and refine financial models for forecasting and performance analysis
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, variance analysis, and business performance metrics
  • Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a part-time schedule of 10-20 hours per week
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial findings clearly to business partners
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in financial work
