SF Recruitment are partnering with an SME business in Alfreton, Derbyshire in their search for a Finance Manager to join the business on a full time, permanent basis. The Finance Manager is responsible to provide support, advice, analysis and recommendations to the Management Team and to ensure the business comply and adhere to group accounting policies. The finance manager will support, motivate & develop a small finance team & play a vitally important role for the business.
Job Responsibility:
Leads financial analysis and modelling for strategic investments and operational reviews, supporting strategic decision-making, forecasting and achievement of business goals.
Contributes to the strategic direction of the business and recommends practices that support operations and objectives.
Ensures internal controls are appropriate and effective in safeguarding assets.
Provides ongoing financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
Leads, develops and manages the Finance Team.
Prepares and presents Board packs.
Prepares the annual budget and analyses variances between budget and actual results.
Prepares all financial components of tender documents.
Produces pro forma financial statements for new business and contract renewals.
Develops and recommends alternative business models.
Oversees accounting policies and practices, ensuring compliance and appropriate financial controls.
Identifies opportunities to improve financial practices, efficiencies, reporting and decision-making.
Analyses overall financial performance and recommends actions to optimise margins and results.
Conducts periodic policy reviews and audits to ensure compliance, liaising with internal audit as required.
Develops and maintains internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Analyses profit margins across regional markets and recommends improvements to streamline operations.
Ensures inventory levels are appropriate for business needs and market conditions.
Investigates inventory gains and losses, identifying root causes and recommending preventative actions.
Liaises with the inventory department.
Requirements:
Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
Minimum 5 years accounting / finance experience
Multi-site experience is desirable
Knowledge of financial practices, and controls.
Ability to build relationships with key financial partners (internal and external).
Ability to present to the Board and maintain composure when challenged.
