The Plant Finance Manager is a business partner working with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the plant financial responsibilities. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the plant income statement, capital and inventory reconciliations, financial compliance, forecasting/budgeting, and variance analysis. This role will play a key role in identifying plant performance improvement opportunities and evaluating the return on capital purchases while protecting the company assets. This role may supervise analysts or other financial staff as necessary. This is a key leadership role in the plant and the candidate is expected to be a driving force to represent the company values, and encourage growth for all stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with Plant Operations and HR Leadership as a key member of the Plant Leadership team to provide daily directions to plant employees and insights and updates to senior leadership
  • Communicate monthly reports of results, periodic forecasts, and annual plant operating plan/budget (includes generation of reports as necessary)
  • Prepare templates and consolidate monthly analyses and reports for actual vs budget/prior year results and variance analysis
  • Ensure the completion of month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
  • Partner with Operations FP&A to enable and ensure the accurate inclusion of plant level detail in Division, Brand and HDNA reporting, forecasting, and planning
  • Participate in strategic Division and Brand financial and operational planning
  • Utilize plans to create and implement plant budgets and goals
  • Calculate annual standard cost for products produced in plant
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual labor and overhead budget including the ongoing review of Labor Management and Capacity analysis
  • Establish labor and OH activity rates as a result of the production plan
  • Review the accuracy and control of bills of material and labor standard hours and rates
  • Contribute financial analysis support and guidance to prepare capital expenditure and cost saving proposals
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify and correct weaknesses
  • Assist external and internal auditors by providing clear supporting explanations and documents
  • Assist with the planning and execution of physical inventories including analysis and reporting of results
  • Support successful launch of all new programs with proper cost estimation support and ensure accurate forecasting of COGS impact
  • Ensures that work is performed in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and those established by the company
  • Assists with system implementations as applicable
  • Perform ad hoc projects and analyses as needed
  • Enforce corporate policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Accounting or Finance degree required
  • Advanced degree or CMA program preferred
  • Proven track record of driving for results with minimal ongoing direction
  • Experience in SAP and lean manufacturing environment preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (primarily Excel)
  • 6+ years’ experience in cost accounting and/or financial planning and analysis
