Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly capable Finance Manager / Office Manager to take ownership of the company’s financial management functions, many of which are currently performed by the CEO. This is a pivotal leadership role for a commercially astute finance professional who enjoys building structure, implementing best practice, and providing clear financial insight to support strategic decision-making. As this company continues to scale, this role is expected to evolve, with responsibility for financial strategy, governance, and executive leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations, including: Management accounts (monthly/quarterly)
  • Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Revenue recognition and cost control
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, VAT, and statutory compliance
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to
  • Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting process in collaboration with the executive team
  • Support departmental leaders in developing, managing, and tracking their budgets
  • Produce clear, concise financial and performance reports for: CEO
  • Executive team
  • Provide insightful analysis of variances, trends, and key business drivers
  • Establish reporting frameworks to track financial and non-financial performance
  • Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Act as a trusted finance and commercial partner to the CEO and executive team
  • Contribute to strategic planning, investment decisions, and growth initiatives
  • Support funding activities, grant claims, and investor reporting (where applicable)

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a finance management role, ideally within a scaling SME, SaaS, or technology-led business
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership teams
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating hands-on
  • Experience in SaaS, or subscription-based software businesses (desirable)
  • Experience implementing finance systems, KPIs, or operational best practices
