Job Description

The Finance Manager is responsible for finance operations, ensuring reliable financial information supports business decisions and meets compliance obligations. The role combines operational management, financial reporting, and business partnering. The position reports to the CEO and leads a finance team of 4-5 staff. The company is a privately owned insulation distributor established in the 1990s, supplying thermal, acoustic, and fire-rated insulation products to the residential, commercial, and industrial construction sectors across Western Australia.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Lead payroll, accounts payable and monthly financial processes
  • Maintain internal controls and finance systems
  • Monitor cash flow, operating performance
  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Provide financial insight to support business growth and operational continuity
  • Oversee accounts payable, payroll processing, month-end procedures, and statutory reporting
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management accounts, providing analysis on inventory performance, job profitability, cash flow, and working capital

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance (CPA or CA preferred)
  • Payroll compliance across multiple awards and manual journals
  • USD payment runs and basic FX considerations
  • Experience in budget preparation, procedures, and control
  • Experience leading small finance teams
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution or construction and a strong understanding of inventory and job costing
  • Experience in improving processes, reporting and controls within a growing business
  • Necessary working rights for Australia
  • Current driving licence
  • Must provide a Police Clearance Check
