We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud infrastructure accounting systems and processes. The team’s charter is to partner with a broad group of stakeholders to build out the end-to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, while optimizing investments and enabling accounting solutions that are scalable and mitigate risk. As a key member of the team you’ll be responsible for designing and executing the accounting system and process solutions for new initiatives focused on the next generation of Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure. The role will be involved with a multi-billion dollar asset portfolio influencing the design of systems & processes, providing key insight to business partners, and executing monthly financial close processes. The role will collaborate with Microsoft partners globally, including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Trade, Sourcing and Business Operations to optimize systems, processes and accounting for Cloud Infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Manage detail-oriented programs to recognize all capitalizable hardware costs through a combination of automated, manual, and vendor-run processes
Design and execute scalable accounting & reporting solutions to enable stakeholders with optimal and compliant systems and processes, and key analysis and insights
Partner with finance to drive insight and clarity on Cloud supply chain cost accounting and asset management guidance to help inform business decisions and financial planning (forecast/budget) and analysis (month-end close)
Participate with a high performing team, continually improve and scale processes, and ensure ongoing process excellence
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) / International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act (SOX), and Microsoft policy
enable controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with global stakeholders to meet regulatory, statutory, audit and compliance requirements
Build and manage close partnerships with teams across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business

Requirements:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience
Analytical, collaboration, and time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of management
Preliminary understanding of GAAP, Internal Controls, and SOX
Demonstrated systems and process improvement experience
Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines
