Job Description

Local Tax Team provides periodic compliance of environmental and health taxes for different European countries on behalf of Unilever Europe BV/ MSO. As part of SCFS structure the team is also supporting tax financial processes. It is responsible for related cost controlling, forecasting, product costing and month end closure and reporting. This role exists to cooperate with Global and Country Tax Teams to support them in delivering sustainable taxes agenda and to obtain from them legal and tax knowledge. You will also cooperate with Finance Excellence teams to ensure proper cost controlling. The team is supporting different projects eg. Plastic Packaging Tax tool. As a leader of the team, you will be a main point of contact for such initiatives responsible for cooperation with project team including tax, D&A, controlling, FET teams and ensuring smooth testing and implementation of the projects in team’s daily operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Partnering to multiple stakeholders and working with various teams across organization
  • Coordination the project work related to centralization of sustainability taxes in SCFS, incl automation agenda
  • Calculation of environmental & health fees, submission of periodic declarations and managing payments
  • Communication of financial results and variance analysis towards stakeholders
  • Providing cost controlling activities to support month end closure process
  • Transfer Prices calculation for respective cost elements
  • Forecasting
  • Knowledge transfer of processes performed by country local teams
  • Setting up processes related to the newly implemented legislations in cooperation with multiple stakeholders
  • Harmonizing and standardizing existing and centralized processes
  • Supporting Tax audits
  • Updating procedures, operation instructions and other documentation with process scope
  • Analyzing the impact of Business Projects on the area of the sustainability taxes and managing with business implementation of relevant changes
  • Identifying opportunities for tax benefits
  • Improving process efficiency leveraging the centralization

Requirements

  • Solid finance experience – minimum 4 years, preferably in Controlling
  • Project leadership experience, including process transition and setting up new processes
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong analytical skills – analytical thinking, problem-solving attitude, and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Forward-looking approach with ability to provide “what-if” analysis

Nice to have

  • Experience with Power BI / Power Query would be an advantage
  • Agility and ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Strong communication skills
