We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead financial operations within the real estate sector in New York, New York. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance high-level planning with hands-on management of financial processes, while collaborating closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will excel in communication and leadership, driving financial performance and overseeing a dedicated team.
Job Responsibility:
Manage profit and loss (P&L) reporting and ensure accurate financial documentation
Oversee monthly financial closings and ensure all processes are handled efficiently
Conduct detailed variance analyses to identify trends and discrepancies
Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting materials for both internal stakeholders and external clients
Address billing and accounts receivable requests, ensuring smooth financial operations
Supervise the cash application process and ensure proper allocation of funds
Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 staff members, fostering growth and collaboration
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights on real estate financial matters
Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with a focus on financial reporting and operations
Expertise in facilities management and commercial or corporate real estate
Strong understanding of operational reporting and monthly close processes
Proven ability to lead and develop a team, driving results in a collaborative environment
Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to interact with senior-level staff
Strategic mindset paired with the ability to dive into detailed financial processes
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
