The Data Governance Foundation Sr. Group Manager is a senior level role managing a team responsible for facilitating all aspects of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role is responsible for defining the enterprise data governance strategy and/or Data Risk and Controls framework and roadmap, including alignment with related enterprise-wide and business/function/region data governance documentation. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Finance Data Products team in Warsaw
Drive the identification of root causes for data issues and lead the development of solutions
Handle all people-management duties, including performance evaluations, hiring, and compensation
Manage the team's performance against specific Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and targets
Lead and implement Data Governance, Risk, and Control policies and standards
Ensure adherence to enterprise-wide data policies and guide their continued development
Liaise with business partners and create reports on data strategy for senior leadership
Support responses to queries from regulators, Internal Audit, and other risk functions
Requirements:
15+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services
8-10+ years in a managerial role leading teams
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate future possibilities into effective strategies
Excellent communication and influence skills to drive consensus across all levels
Proven experience leading organizational change in a large and complex environment
Ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex problems effectively
Promotes a culture of collaboration and builds strong relationships with business partners
Experience creating data governance frameworks to improve data quality and meet regulatory commitments
Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and a champion for a positive risk culture
