Job Description

Proclinical is seeking a Finance Consultant to provide strategic and hands-on support across key finance functions in a commercialization environment. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in clinical or commercial-stage biotech or specialty pharma, particularly those who have supported first product launches, ERP implementations, and finance transformation initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide strategic and hands-on support across: General Accounting (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, month-end close, Financial reporting and controls)
  • Revenue Recognition / Gross-to-Net (GTN) (Government pricing, rebates, discounts, admin fees, Returned and free goods accounting, Coordination with third-party GTN providers)
  • Cost & Inventory Accounting (Standard cost development, Inventory accounting and capitalization (post-PDUFA))
  • ERP & Systems (ERP selection, implementation, or optimization (NetSuite, SAP preferred), Finance transformation and reporting infrastructure)
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P) (Process design and optimization)
  • FP&A (Budgeting, long-range planning (LRP), Financial forecasting and reporting)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or FP&A leader
  • Expertise in biotech or specialty pharma, particularly in clinical-to-commercial transitions and first product launches
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, GTN processes, inventory, and cost accounting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP
  • Background in venture-backed or high-growth biotech companies, ideally scaling organizations from 50 to 500 employees
