We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Interim Finance Clerk to provide support across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Statistics, with an emphasis on administrative tasks, filing, and supporting payroll/benefits administration. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to multiple areas of finance in a dynamic healthcare environment. Job Responsibility:
Provide administrative and operational support across Finance, including AP, AR, Payroll, and Statistical functions
Maintain filing systems, organize documents, and ensure accurate recordkeeping
Support payroll processing, including timesheet verification, earnings calculation, deductions, and reporting
Assist with pension and employee benefit administration, enrollments, changes, and related inquiries
Maintain accurate and organized filing for financial, payroll, and statistical records
Process incoming and outgoing mail, invoices, and supporting documentation
Assist staff with document preparation, reporting, and data entry
Support payroll processing and recordkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with collective agreements, policies and legislation
Assist with HOOPP pension and group benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and reporting
Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries, providing guidance and support
Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable tasks, including invoice entry, deposits, reconciliations, and month-end procedures
Collect, review, and submit statistical and financial data as required
Support reporting and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
Provide backup and support across Finance operations as required
Participate in quality management and continuous improvement initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance Department
Requirements:
Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
working towards a post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or payroll is an asset
Or 1–3 years of relevant finance or payroll experience
Familiarity with financial, payroll, and reporting software
willingness to learn new systems
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High degree of confidentiality, honesty, and integrity
