The key purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely management accounts for the Blackrock Hospital group. Partner with business management to ensure effective delivery of objectives through the provision of quality financial analysis and decision support.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare, analyse, interpret and deliver timely, accurate financial and activity information to the executive team including daily / weekly P&L accounts and monthly management accounts for the group to strict reporting deadlines
Proactively work with business-unit managers, as a finance business partner, to maintain the integrity and accuracy of transactions in the general ledger, in accordance with relevant legislation and internal accounting policies
Assist the statutory reporting team with the provision of information to enable the preparation of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with recognised accounting standards and relevant legislation
Reconciliation and management of month end reconciliations including month end journal processing
Engage with business-unit managers to understand and deliver information requirements, including financials for business cases, cost analytics and variance analysis
Work with executives and unit managers to identify new business and investment opportunities and provide detailed financial analysis of those proposals using various assessment measures
Work with business-unit managers to improve and maintain the accuracy of service costs within all relevant information systems
Contribute to the budget and forecasting processes by engaging with business-unit managers to understand service delivery plans and resources required to deliver these
Collaborate with business-unit managers to review and approve expenditure requisitions in line with budget
Analyse, validate, interpret and deliver payroll information, including headcount, agency costs and nurse patient ratios, to the executive team and unit managers to facilitate decision making
Show commitment to the adoption of best practice and proactively seek opportunities to improve the finance function
Contribute to a wide variety of ad-hoc accounting assignments, projects and initiatives as required, including the adoption of digital processes
Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with all other finance team members, towards improving the finance function
Engage with the finance team on continuous improvement and commit to the adoption of best practice while seeking out opportunities to improve the finance systems and processes
Undertake various ad hoc reporting or accounting assignments as required by Finance Management
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant 1+ Year PQE
Healthcare experience desirable however not essential
Experience working on own initiative and with multidisciplinary stakeholders
