Job Description:

Temp contract opportunity until 26th February 2026 - possible extensions. Cheltenham VIC location with WFH flexibility provided - Parking onsite. 38 hours per week. 22nd December start date. Produce high quality monthly management financial reports compliant with accounting standards and internal processes and procedures. The role will work to ensure the Finance team, Managers, Team Leaders and Co-Coordinators meet monthly reporting deadlines. Involved in complex financial analysis, and will use corporate applications to meet organisational requirements and objectives. The position will assist with month end processes that assist the organisation in meeting financial targets and deadlines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own the completion of the end-of-month reporting cycle for assigned business areas, providing financial analysis and support for operational budget development and variance investigation
  • Review cash flow requirements to propose and produce reports for investment options that align with Council policy and external market data
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and the achievement of corporate goals by maintaining effective relationships and participating in the development of innovative service delivery enhancements
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial data bases and reports, and advise on system enhancements and reconciliation to maintain reliable information

Requirements:

  • CPA/CA Qualification - Essential
  • Proficiency in using Technology One (Desirable), or similar ERP system
  • Experience in a similar role as a Finance Business Partner
  • CPA / Accounting degree or similar is necessary
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Three to five years’ experience in financial / management accounting environment
  • Advanced Excel skill and large data analysis
