Job Description:

An innovative early-stage venture capital firm focused on frontier technologies is seeking a Finance Associate – Tax to join its finance and operations team. This high-impact role offers hands-on experience across fund operations, tax compliance, and strategic initiatives, with exposure to emerging sectors such as crypto, AI, and next-gen platforms.

Job Responsibility:

Manage the full tax compliance process for funds, general partners, and the management company
Review tax filings prepared by advisors, including returns, K-1s, and foreign disclosures
Oversee estimated tax calculations and ensure timely payments
Conduct tax research and validate third-party recommendations
Respond to investor tax inquiries and lead ad hoc tax research initiatives
Review quarterly fund financials and NAV reports produced by fund administrators
Support annual audits and financial statement reviews
Track fund performance, valuations, and investment activity
Assist with day-to-day operations including capital calls, distributions, and accounts payable
Respond to investor requests and support finance-related inquiries
Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing financial systems and processes

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of tax experience within asset management, including at least 4 years focused on venture capital, private equity, or alternative investments
CPA certification or equivalent credential required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, paired with strong analytical abilities
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with tax advisory services and fund operations is highly preferred
A strong interest in emerging technologies such as cryptocurrency, technology innovation, or artificial intelligence is a significant advantage
