Finance Assistant

• Monitoring, reviewing, analysing, and controlling all costs for ongoing projects
• Daily collation and oversight of project-related costs including labour, sub-contractors, plant, and materials
• Keeping a close eye on commitments including Goods Receipt Notes and orders
• Assisting in the analysis and reporting on cost codes, trends, and allocations
• Inputting purchase invoices into the accounting system
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery tickets to ensure accuracy
• Building strong relationships with suppliers to resolve queries
• Working alongside the procurement team to address order queries
• Preparing monthly payment runs
• Assisting the project accountant with ad hoc projects and providing cover during annual leave

• Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles
• Experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a project-based environment
• Proficiency in using accounting software (experience with COINS is desirable)
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and insights
• Excellent communication skills to build rapport with suppliers and team members
