Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the company’s purchase ledger, ensuring all purchase invoices are recorded accurately. Within the purchase ledger team, you will handle specific invoice types and address any related queries. Additionally, you will assist with weekly and ad-hoc payment runs as required. As part of your apprenticeship, you will receive study support to pursue the AAT qualification, enabling you to gain practical experience while developing your professional finance skills and knowledge.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately input purchase ledger invoices into the accounting system
Verify invoice costs against expected amounts
Ensure invoices are approved by a manager prior to payment
Reconcile supplier invoices and investigate any discrepancies
Assist in the supplier payment process as needed
Support the processing of expense claims and credit card transactions
Perform routine calculations to generate analyses and reports when requested
Input accounting data swiftly and accurately into the system
Provide ad-hoc support to other areas of the finance team, including sales ledger and nominal postings
Handle general administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, archiving, and shredding
Assist with office duties, including answering the phone and sorting post
Take on additional duties as required
Requirements:
Computer literate with strength in the MS Office products
Strong time management and general organisation skills
The ability to work within tight deadlines whilst dealing with interruptions
Positive, proactive and flexible approach – a ‘can do’ attitude
Good verbal and written communication skills
Self motivated and enthusiastic
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Good analytical ability
