Job Description:

Finance and Administration Manager position at a foreign publishing company in Tokyo, responsible for overseeing accounting, tax, and treasury activities, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, managing financial controls, and leading a team of finance and operations staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and organize the activities on Accounting, Tax and Treasury to be in compliance with all internal, statutory, regulatory, and Head Office requirements
  • Ensure an appropriate financial control environment aligned to the local and Divisional DLA, Code of Conduct, and Ethical Policies
  • Conduct preventative and detective reviews of all financial transactions
  • Recruit, train and motivate Finance & Operations staff
  • Define and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Handle monthly and yearly closing and support in financial report preparations
  • Manage cash flow to allocate adequate funds between the company’s needs, investing surplus and / or seeking bank facilities as defined by Group Treasury policy
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Support with budgeting and forecast preparation
  • Provide a forecast of performance and implement measures to achieve budget
  • Perform audits and resolve discrepancies, correspond to accounting audits and tax audits
  • Provide analysis and documentation to aid strategic decision making and commercial negotiation to deliver of financial results and return on investment
  • Manage the company ERP system to minimize risk and provide a robust ERP infrastructure to support the business
  • Prepare and submit UK Financial Package without any delay

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree
  • 10 year-experience in finance and accounting functions
  • Strong knowledge in general accounting principles for Japan and UK
  • Extensive knowledge of local statutory, tax and legal requirements
  • Experience of working in a matrix organization and significant management experience in multi-national companies
  • Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and accounting software
  • Ability to successfully analyze large volume of data
  • Ability to formulate conclusions and recommendations using facts and data, deductive reasoning, and sound judgment
  • Proven ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines, prioritize work, and deliver results
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, collaborative, pro-active, problem solver, agile/flexible
  • Fluency in English
