The Lead, Finance and Administration is responsible for the overall strategic management, direction, and operation of the Division. This multidisciplinary role provides oversight for Finance, Information Technology (IT), and Human Resources Coordination. You will act as the primary architect of the organization’s financial framework, ensuring that all systems—from budgeting to risk management—align with provincial requirements and board policies. This role requires a visionary who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights for program directors and stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Direct overall financial management
develop and implement accounting systems to facilitate reporting within legislative requirements (MSDSB)
Lead the preparation and submission of Board and Provincial budgets, ensuring timely compliance with all regulatory policies
Develop and maintain comprehensive asset management plans and internal control systems to safeguard organizational assets
Advise program Directors and Managers on financial matters, monitoring funding and developing corrective action plans when necessary
Facilitate all provincial reporting, year-end reconciliations, and quarterly forecasts
ensure successful audits through documented controls
Calculate and set the Municipal Levy in accordance with Board Policy
Provide strategic direction for the IT department and coordinate HR functions to ensure organizational alignment
Requirements:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) highly preferred
Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within the public sector, broader public sector (BPS), or a non-profit environment
Strong understanding of provincial funding models, municipal levy processes, and public sector accounting standards
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and influence senior-level decision-making
Advanced knowledge of financial software, ERP systems, and internal control frameworks
