Job Description:

As a Finance Analyst within the Sotheby’s global finance team, you will support the accounts receivable and treasury functions with detailed reporting and financial analysis. The Finance Analyst will prepare routine journal entries relating to accounts receivable and financing activities, as well as contribute to the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for review. Additionally, this role will support the Global Head of Cash Operations to produce regular reporting and to meet financial requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting, financial analysis, and data management. The ideal candidate can think analytically, autonomously, and has advanced Excel skills.

Job Responsibility:

Routine reporting and analysis of accounts receivable data, activity, roll forwards and ageing
Produce regular borrowing base reports for review and approval
Liaising with the accounts receivable team to support with cash application, invoicing requirements and cashflow movement
Prepare and record monthly journal entries in relation to financing transactions
Collate and consolidate client payment data to support cashflow management
Preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts and working capital analysis
Produce regular KPIs around cashflow management, accounts receivable and accounts payable
Providing various ad-hoc analysis as required
Make recommendations for process improvements, automation, reporting and analysis
Support audit activities and help ensure timely delivery of required documentation

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar
CIMA or ACCA qualified candidate preferred
2-3+ years of accounting or finance experience
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other core applications
Prior knowledge and experience in SAP a plus
