Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Analyst - Retail Operation, to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support and provide advise for store labor performance and retail format investment. You’ll work across our iconic brands - BWS and Dan Murphy’s, to ensure our store network is efficient, profitable, and prepared for the future.

Job Responsibility

  • Labor & Wages Management: Responsible for end-to-end performance reporting for store wages. You’ll manage budgets, forecasts, and month-end tasks while deep-diving into the drivers behind cost-per-hour and labor efficiency
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Support the "Simpler For Stores" team to ensure labor budgets are robust and reflect real-world operational changes
  • Network & Format Optimisation: Support the evolution of our stores by assessing expansion opportunities, renewals, and sustainability initiatives. You’ll play a key role in post-implementation reviews to ensure property investments deliver
  • Insightful Analysis: Move beyond the numbers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in our Cost of Doing Business (CODB) and competitor landscape
  • Innovation & Automation: Champion process improvements by automating existing reports and creating new tools that provide stakeholders with timely, high-impact insights

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment
  • CA/CPA qualification is preferred, but not essential
  • Strong experience with financial systems and data tools, specifically Excel, SAP, IBM, TeamOne, and GCP
  • Exceptional data modeling skills with the ability to summarise high volumes of data from various sources into clear insights
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence decision-making across different business functions
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan, coordinate reporting cycles, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
