Our client is a VIC government organisation based in the Melbourne CBD. They are currently seeking a Finance & Accounts Officer to come in and join their team on a 2 month temp contract with potential for extension.
Job Responsibility:
Procurement & AP Management Manage the end-to-end purchase order and invoicing cycle, ensuring accurate GL coding and timely approvals
General Ledger Maintenance Prepare journals, reconcile accounts, and execute month-end closing activities for accurate monthly reporting
Regulatory Compliance Ensure all financial activities align with the Financial Management Act 1994 and relevant government guidelines
Asset Management Maintain the fixed asset system, accurately recording all additions, disposals, and system updates
Stakeholder & Vendor Liaison Provide expert financial guidance to internal teams and act as the primary contact for supplier and client inquiries
Financial Integrity & Analysis Monitor overdue invoices and perform regular data analysis to ensure record accuracy and effective cash flow
Reporting & System Improvement Support annual financial reporting and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline
Fincloud, and MS Excel system experience
Previous Federal, State or Local government experience
