Job Description:

Join a caring finance team where your work truly matters. Grow, belong, and make an impact supporting teams nationwide as the AEA Accountant! Accountant – Full Time – Hybrid role. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant contributes to the financial health of AEA through accurate month-end processing, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance work. This role is key to maintaining data integrity across Xero and associated systems, supporting stakeholders, and ensuring smooth and timely financial operations.

Job Responsibility:

Complete month-end processing, reconciliations and journals
Perform payroll costings and leave balance calculations
Manage intercompany transactions and loan reconciliations
Prepare schedules for annual audit requirements
Assist with BAS/IAS preparation
Support AASB16 lease calculations and FBT compliance monitoring
Contribute to financial reports for hospital leadership and the Board
Maintain data accuracy across Xero, Dext, and related systems
Partner with internal stakeholders across hospitals and support teams
Provide insights and improvements to financial systems and workflows

Requirements:

5+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
A degree in Accounting (CA/CPA qualified or progressing)
Strong experience with Xero
Advanced Excel capability
Understanding of AASB Standards (including AASB16), FBT and compliance requirements
Experience completing BAS/IAS
High attention to detail, accuracy and analytical capability
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems independently
