Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid on mid shift (1pm to 10pm). This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Initiate and complete projects to streamline accounting operations via process simplification, standardization and/or automation
  • Perform (low risk) operational activities like manual journal entries, account reconciliation or budgeting and forecasting
  • Participate in meetings to identify opportunities to streamline/simplify work
  • Present the results of the project to GBS Leadership Lead/participate in GBS-wide engagement activities

Requirements

  • Candidates must be graduating/3rd year college students of Finance and Accounting courses, with internship as official undergraduate requirement
  • Must be willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • KNIME or any similar automation tools preferably trained LEAN, Six-sigma trained
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management)

  • Leadership skills (e.g. officer in school or community organizations)
  • Good in problem solving
  • Ability to work in a competitive environment
  • Can confidently deal with ambiguity and learn on the fly

  • Proactive involvement in determining improvement areas and work with Manager to provide the necessary supervision/leadership to assigned projects/initiatives which may include migration, continuous process improvement & other quality initiatives
  • Identify, rectify, follow up and resolve issues, define and implement action plans to address root cause, document and monitor issue and error log
  • Act as first point of escalation on issues of assigned cluster/sub-team
