We are looking for a detail-oriented File Clerk to support document organization and records management for a Contract position based in Stamford, Connecticut. This role focuses on maintaining accurate paper and electronic files, helping ensure information is easy to retrieve, securely stored, and kept up to date. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling high volumes of documents, scanning materials, and supporting daily administrative filing needs with consistency and care.
Job Responsibility
Organize, sort, and maintain physical records so documents are filed accurately and can be retrieved quickly when needed
Prepare paper files for storage by labeling, categorizing, and placing materials into appropriate file boxes and record locations
Scan incoming and archived documents to create clear digital copies and support efficient electronic recordkeeping
Upload and index files within e-filing systems to keep electronic records complete, searchable, and properly structured
Review documents for completeness and correct filing details before storing them in paper or digital formats
Retrieve requested records for internal teams in a timely manner while preserving confidentiality and document control
Assist with routine records maintenance, including updating file locations, removing duplicates, and keeping storage areas orderly.
Requirements
Experience handling paper filing and organizing large volumes of physical records
Ability to work with file boxes and manage document storage in an orderly, efficient manner
Proficiency in scanning documents with strong attention to image quality and file accuracy
Familiarity with electronic filing practices and maintaining digital records in e-filing systems
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established filing procedures consistently
Ability to manage repetitive administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity
Reliable communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a structured office environment.
