3+ years previous coaching experience preferred

Knowledge of the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program
Knowledge of generally accepted coaching techniques
Skill in organizing large groups of skaters (youth or mixed ages)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors and management
Must like working with children

Energy, assertiveness, innovation, creativity, and willingness to try new approaches and techniques
Must have passed USFS Freeskate 6, or equivalent, must (can still be a full member of U.S. Figure Skating via their home club)

Job Responsibility

Provide instruction to youth (ages 3 and up) and adults
Demonstrate proper use of equipment, techniques and methods of proper movement to achieve proficiency in sport
Explain and enforce safety, rules and regulations
Keep records and help coordinate events
Keep management and parents informed of activities and problems as they arise
Arrive prepared and on time
Record attendance each day of class
Instruct students in elements of class level
Evaluate students on testing day, and complete forms required by program
Input students level into the computer registration program
